While creating your slides, however, your laptop barely responds. You’d see more the “wait” icon doing its dance more than anything else. You’d wait patiently. The laptop gives in. You begin work only to see the laptop freeze again. Not a pretty picture this, is it? For most people laptops are all that we depend on. No wonder then that our laptops take more pounding than they should. As machines, they go though the wear andRead More →

We all know Apple to be the top, if not, one of the top contenders in the laptop world, but it is far from the only company out there. Dell has had its fair share of laptops, as well, that have made names for themselves, most notably the Inspiron Notebook. This laptop is now known for being a budget, or entry-level laptop within the Dell brand, but that hasn’t stopped it from being a very well rounded computer. Dell replaced the old plastic body with an aluminum lid and magnesium alloy chassis. The edge has LED lights that run around it and the touchpad fully lights up. With the keyboard, there are 10 color areas on the 17 / 18 while the 14 has 5. While the Aleinware logo has always glowed on the top it is now customizable. They include Klipsch speakers, backed by Dolby Audio Theater. Even though thinner andRead More →

Toshiba has released its ultra-high-res laptop the KIRAbook. The Toshiba KIRAbook is for the most part a decent ultrabook. There is no other screen like it in the Windows 8 market. It is thin and light, weighing just  3 pounds.  Toshiba claims the magnesium alloy casing is 90% stronger than the aluminum case of the Macbook Air.  The screen contains 3.7 million pixels. Unfortunately the KIRAbook has a smaller keyboard, and the track pad is less responsive than the Macbook Air. It appears Toshiba is attempting to outdo the Macbook air, but there is a lot to be left wanting. Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-3537U Processor,Read More →
