Dell has unveiled three new Alienware laptops, the Alienware 14, 17 and 18. They all include Haswell processors, the newest NVIDIA graphics, but the first thing you’ll notice is the look. Dell replaced the old plastic body with an aluminum lid and magnesium alloy chassis. The edge has LED lights that run around it and the touchpad fully lights up. With the keyboard, there are 10 color areas on the 17 / 18 while the 14 has 5. While the Aleinware logo has always glowed on the top it is now customizable. They include Klipsch speakers, backed by Dolby Audio Theater. Even though thinner and lighter is usually the trend with newer laptops, that’s not the case here, as they are nearly the same size as older models.
With the 17, and 18 models Dell added macro keys. The 17 has four macro keys and the 18 has 9. They all come standard with a quad-core Core i7 processor. They come with a minimum of 750GB of HDD storage, with SSDs available also.
