A keylogger was found in a HP laptop last Sunday. If you do not know what a keylogger is, it is software which records keyboard inputs that users make while they are using their computers. You can probably already see how this can be a big deal. The keylogger was found in an laptop’s Synaptics Touchpad driver, or the SynTP.sys file. Unfortunately, if you have gotten an HP laptop recently there is a good chance that your laptop has been affected. The SynTP.sys file comes shipped on close to 500 of HP’s laptop models, including over 300 consumer grade laptops and over 170 commercial laptops.Read More →

This is the laptop you’re looking for. HP has unveiled a very awesome Star Wars Special Edition Notebook just in time for the holidays and the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With a starting price of $699, this Star Wars Notebook is actually pretty fancy. It comes with a matte finish that is fingerprint resistance and the graphics that are printed all over the outer case are subtle yet striking and provide you with plenty of things to nerd over. Probably the coolest feature is the trackpad, which has been designed to look like the targeting computer of an X-Wing. Built-in galleries andRead More →

When HP launched its Stream 11 the laptop was a no-nonsense 11″ laptop that had a moderate price tag of only $199. In addition to that, the laptop came with a full version of Windows 8 and, despite its plastic shell, offered solid day-to-day computing along with decent battery life. All-in-all, the Stream 11 became the number one choice for laptop buyers on a budget. And while this laptop was pretty awesome, it is made even more awesome by the fact that HP has revealed that the Stream 11 is getting an update. The changes that come with this new Steam 11 are modest atRead More →

Sponsored By RentOurLaptops.com–A Brand By Rentacomputer.com As it has been recently, we’ve been seeing a rise of tablets and tablet-laptop hybrids. It seems as if the production of laptops has slowed, and that tablets have jumped up to the main forefront of mobile technology. I personally still use a laptop, and I genuinely enjoy it. I don’t really have a need for anything touchscreen, aside from my smartphone. To some, it might be all about application and what you need to do. To others, it could be about what looks the best and what is, in fact, more mobile. No one ever thought that somethingRead More →

Apple recently purchased Beats Audio for a whopping $3 billion. This was unbelievable news to lots of people, being that it was an absolutely staggering amount of money to invest into a headphone company. If you think about it though, it is one of the best moves Apple has ever made. They created the iPod, which turned into the iPhone. They created iTunes, which is the biggest music store in the entire universe and is also 100% to blame for the long and slow death of the CD, the CD player, and the home entertainment system as we used to know it. They pretty muchRead More →

It can be daunting to see just how quickly power between tech products shifts. Almost anyone of us can remember using a Gateway computer and waiting for the dial-up to connect. We have come a long way from hearing that annoying buzzing sound. We entered into the world of faster computers, faster internet, and mobile devices. The laptop still definitely has it’s place amongst all of the other tech devices out there, but the recent introduction of the Hybrid models shows that we are in the middle of a power shift. Both tablets and laptops are now being used as the main computing devices forRead More →

What do you really sacrifice when you pick a laptop over a desktop? Are you really sacrificing anything now that laptops are more advanced than ever? It used to be that when you were deciding between the two, you had to pick between power and mobility. For me I would always go with a desktop as I can contact Computer Repairs Ipswich anytime I want to repair it and also upgrade it as per my wish and will. With as far as we have come with advancing our technologies and improving upon them, the line between the two is becoming more and more blurred. ChoosingRead More →

Despite that fact that HP is discontinuing production of WebOS devices, it still appears as if the company is very much interested in the success of the WebOS platform as well as the growth of WebOS applications. While this is good news for the platform, it is especially good news for owners of the HP TouchPad tablet. The latest TouchPad news comes out of Wal-Mart who joins Best Buy in offering the rather popular tablet with purchase of a qualifying laptop.
