The big thing everybody will be looking for on this Black Friday will be tech. People will obviously be scrambling for HDTVs but others may find themselves seeking out other things, like a new laptop or tablet. It is expected that laptops and tablets will see a price drop come Black Friday and the first deal has already leaked.
The first revealed tablet to get a Black Friday price drop is the Coby Kyros, selling at Fred’s for a whopping $99.95 but you can still get a coupon code depending to get a discount (visit this site). According to an image found in Fred’s Black Friday 2011 ad scan, this particular tablet is the Coby Kyros model MID7012-4G with Android 2.3 as an operating system, a 7″ resistive touch screen (800 x 480), the Telechips ARM11 800MHz processor, 4GB of internal memory (expandable via MicroSD/SDHC slot), WiFi and USB.
What you won’t find on this tablet is a camera, HDMI, Bluetooth or GPS. That will be a major setback for many hardcore tablet fans, though this is an extremely good deal if you are looking into a tablet for one of your younger children who doesn’t need all the bells and whistles attached.
This model also uses the AppsLib app marketplace and comes with three stylus pens, all in different colors. These pens can be extremely useful when using the resistive touch screen or if you are using the tablet in conjunction with earphones or another type of plug in.
Physical specs of the device include a 0.71 lb. weight and dimensions measuring 7.67 x 0.59 x 4.72 inches. And while the $99.95 price tag may seem like a great Black Friday bargain, it is only so at Fred’s. You can get the exact same tablet, brand new off of Amazon right now for a measly $2.50 more.
Many people are still waiting for the first Black Friday laptop deal so stayed tuned to A Laptop Blog as we will be posting more Black Friday tablet and laptop deals as the arrive.
